So well, dunno what's your feeling but with the scary rythm of nearly one new
menu entry every week, I definetly think the Phoenix menu has reach the
bloated point...
This is quite ennoying because the menu must absolutely stay the clearest
thing possible, being the first and only tool visitors have to browse the
library.
As for possible solutions, I thought to nesting, but I doubt it would be good
as it would not simplify the layout for newcomers. They would be lost !
So what about :
1) trying to move things elsewhere whenever possible (e.g : the link for the
"full listing" is just a query, so why not rather displaying this only book on
the Advanced Search page, just above(or below) the form ? The page is empty,
and it makes sense...
2) We should switch to more context sensitive menu : E.G: only displaying the
EULA and PhoenixEdition menu entries when the user is on the FAQ page would be
much more wise...
your thoughts ?
Other concern just passing by (I'd rather Copy/paste it into a MAJOR CRITICAL
BUG !! :-)) : I would definetly prefer if we kept implementing things on the
/dev/ part first, test it for say 24 or 48 hours depending on complexity, and
THEN switch to Root : cause what if the modification turns out to be buggy ?
screw the site, etc ? we don't have even time to see what things look like
before they happen !! Shame on you damn impatient guy !! (you know who you are
! :-)))

Don't see what you would like to say ! Try using the menu using a "non-
administrator" user !

Agree!!!
Actually some items could be moved to the "footer". "Terms of Use" and the
incoming "Privacy Policy" definitely belong there.
Your point #2: I would actually move "Tools" and "Phoenix Editions" inside the
FAQ. Move "Your Ebooks" and "Your Phoenix Page" inside "Your Account".
JM :)
Who are those impatient guy? :))

I've worked a bit on it...
cleared two entries...
still works to do for context sensitivity
------- Additional Comments From Germain 2001-10-03 12:35 -------
I've worked a bit on this... removed the "term of use" entry (already in the
footer), removed the "complete booklist" entry (will be displayed on the
advanced search & settings page...
Now there are still some efforts to turn the menu into a more context-aware
thing

wondering if context-aware menus aren't confusing...
let's consider this bug entry as FIXED for the moment
